is responsible for the processing of your personal data (hereinafter also referred to as «we» or «us»). You can contact our data protection officer at datenschutzbeauftragter@mediengruppe-rtl.de or via our postal address with the addition «data protection officer».

 

II.     Processing of personal data (General)

1. General

Personal data («data») is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person. Also pseudonyminized data, which we cannot assign to you directly, e.g. via a name or an e-mail address, is personal data.

 

2. Your Rights

You have at all times a right of access to to information about the data we have stored about you. If your personal data is incorrect or no longer up to date, you have a right to request the correction of the data. Under certain circumstances, you also have the right to request deletion of your data or restriction on the processing of your data.

If you have given us permission to process your data, you can revoke it at any time with effect for the future.

For reasons arising from your particular situation, you have the right at any time to object with future effect to data processing based on legitimate interests.

Finally, you also have the right to request an electronic copy of your data or to have the data forwarded to another provider. You also have the right to contact a data protection authority and file a complaint there.

You can exercise these rights by contacting the controller.

 

3. Obligation to provide the data

As a rule, the provision of your data is not mandatory. When you voluntarily register, you must provide certain information (e.g. your e-mail address, your company and a user name («account information»). Without this information, we will not be able to provide a login. Your account data is stored with a time stamp of the registration and the last login.

 

4. Disclosure of data to third parties

We will only disclose your data to third parties if this is necessary to fulfil the contract, if we or the third party have a legitimate interest in disclosure or if you have given your consent. In addition, data may be transferred to third parties if we are required to do so by law or by an enforceable official or court order.

 

5. Processors

We partly use service providers for the processing of data. The access of service providers to your data is limited to the necessary extent. As a rule, service providers are integrated as so-called contract processors who may only process data according to our instructions.

 

6. Transfer of data to non-EEA countries

Data may also be transferred to third parties or processors established in non-EEA countries. In this case, we will ensure that the recipient has an adequate level of data protection prior to disclosure. We have concluded so-called EU standard contract clauses with various companies. Further information can be obtained from our data protection officer on request.

 

7. Duration of storage

We will store your data for as long as is necessary to provide our online service and the associated services or as long as we have a legitimate interest in further storage. In all other cases, we will delete your personal data with the exception of data that we must retain to comply with legal (e.g. tax or commercial) retention periods (e.g. invoices). If you do not log in for two years, your account data will be deleted. If you actively delete your account, we will delete your account data after three months at the latest.

 

8. Pseudonymous data processing

The data processing listed below is essentially carried out on a pseudonymous basis. This means that we or third parties cannot assign the data to you directly, e.g. via a name or an e-mail address, but that a profile is created, e.g. on the basis of an ID or a cookie.

 

III.     Data processing by us using our product

We collect the following data in log files in particular for the purpose of security, stability and for other technical reasons when you visit our website:

-    IP-adress

-    Date and time of the request

-    Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

-    Contents of the request (concrete page)

-    Access status/HTTP status code

-    Amount of data transferred in each case

-    Website from which the request originates

-    Browser

-    Operating system and its interface

-    Language and version of the browser software.

Logfiles will be deleted within one month, unless storage is exceptionally required for a longer period to fulfil the above-mentioned purposes.

 

IV.     Processing with regard to the Newsletter

If you have given us your explicit consent to receive our newsletter, we will use your e-mail address for this purpose. Your consent will be stored with a time stamp. You can revoke your consent at any time, by e.g. sending an e-mail to sales@rtl.de.

 

V.     Processing of data that you make available to us via contact forms or by e-mail

You have the possibility to contact us via different means, e.g. by e-mail, for different purposes. We use the data transmitted by you in this way solely to process your request. They will be deleted at the latest after the request has been processed, unless storage is necessary for other reasons.
